General Accounting Specialist

For our Animal Health entity controlling team located in Boxmeer, we are looking for two highly motivated and experienced colleagues to work as General Accounting Specialist.

About the position

Reporting to the Associate Director, Entity Controller for Animal Health in the Netherlands, you will hold responsibilities for different aspects of the financial accounting and reporting for our manufacturing, commercial, R&D, Technical Solutions and IP ownership functions across our three entities.

You will work closely with the other members of our controlling team and hold responsibilities for the internal and external accounting (USGAAP and NLGAAP) controlling tasks of our team.

Primary responsibilities

• As a General Accounting Specialist, you will have a diverse role within the company, providing the opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of the Finance organization and establish valuable partnerships with stakeholders. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Support in financial month end close process including sales & cost of sales review, accrual review, royalties, revenue recognition and journal entry preparation for complex/non-routine transactions etc.
• Contact person for BSC, COSI, Customer Service Department, Royalty CoE and other stakeholders.
• Complete the Innovationbox calculation
• Preparation of Waste tax reporting and statistical reporting for our animal health legal entities.
• Preparation of internal legal entity reporting for several stakeholders.
• Support and monitoring of non-goods related billing
• Support internal and external audits
• Provide support in statutory and fiscal accounting and reporting matters
• Take the role of local finance privacy steward
• Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in order to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of processes within own work-area.
• Provide ad hoc support to business controlling teams to support their understanding and analysis on actuals, forecasting and planning of employee expenses

Your profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 3 -5 years of experience in this field, preferably in an international pharma environment
• Demonstrates understanding of national and regional accounting laws, regulations, and standards and applies them appropriately to ensure the financial integrity of the business and financial statements.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch
• Stakeholder focused, resilient and reliable person.
• Builds trust and credibility by delivering results and following through on commitments.
• Proficient in SAP, Excel and other MS Office tools. Experience with Analytic Data and Prescriptive analytics is a pro.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
