Role Overview
We are seeking a Digital MMD Automation Engineer (OEM) to support automation initiatives within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Digital MMD Project Lead, you will be responsible for the PLC/SCADA elements of OEM systems, working closely with internal digital teams, site stakeholders, and external vendors.
This role requires a strong focus on standardization, compliance, and high-quality delivery in line with GMP and SDLC requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop User Requirements Specifications (URS) for OEM PLC/SCADA systems
- Review and approve technical design documentation
- Collaborate with site project teams to define and scope system changes
- Implement changes in accordance with SDLC processes (including change control, testing, and validation)
- Ensure all implementations are carried out in a safe, compliant, and high-quality manner
- Maintain and utilize development environments as needed
- Provide guidance and training to project teams on automation standards and best practices
- Partner with internal Digital teams to ensure secure and standardized system implementations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in PLC applications in a GMP environment
- Hands-on experience with Siemens WinCC SCADA and TIA Portal (engineering, commissioning, qualification)
- Strong understanding of cGMP regulations, SDLC methodologies, and LEAN/Six Sigma principles
- Proven ability in business analysis for small to medium-sized projects
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
