Statutory Accountant (RA/AA) - Benelux

About the Role

On behalf of our client, a leading international FMCG organization, we are seeking an Interim Statutory Accountant to support the Benelux finance team.

Due to a combination of maternity leave of the Statutory Manager and the unexpected absence of a Statutory team member, there is an urgent need for senior-level support within the statutory function.

The organization operates with centralized finance hubs responsible for statutory reporting, tax, treasury, and compliance across multiple countries. The Benelux team supports a large number of legal entities across the Netherlands and Belgium.

In this role, you will take ownership of statutory accounting, reporting, and audit coordination activities, while also supporting tax and treasury-related processes. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can quickly integrate and operate independently in an international environment.

Key Responsibilities

Statutory Accounting & Reporting
* Prepare and post statutory accounting adjustments (e.g. depreciation, inventory, financing, tax)
* Align US GAAP reporting to local GAAP requirements (NL & BE)
* Prepare and support filing of statutory financial statements (mainly holding entities)
* Execute period-end close and reporting activities in SAP
* Support monthly, quarterly, and group reporting

Audit & Governance
* Act as primary contact for external auditors
* Coordinate audit deliverables and supporting documentation
* Prepare statutory and Board-level documentation

Tax, Treasury & Corporate Support
* Support corporate tax compliance activities
* Assist with Dutch holding administration
* Contribute to ad hoc tax, treasury, and legal projects
* Collaborate with shared service centers, controllers, and finance stakeholders

Profile

Required
* RA or AA qualification
* Strong experience in statutory accounting and external reporting
* SAP experience (mandatory)
* Fluent in Dutch and English
* Hands-on, proactive, and able to operate independently

Preferred
* Experience with US GAAP
* Experience with Caseware
* Background in multinational or shared service environments
* Exposure to tax and treasury processes
* Experience with holding structures
