Our client, a highly respected boutique medical communications agency, is seeking an experienced Account Director, Publications & Medical Affairs to join their growing team. This is an opportunity to work in a collegial, supportive, and science forward environment where you'll partner closely with clients, internal scientific teams, and cross functional colleagues to deliver impactful publications and medical affairs initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary client partner across assigned accounts, ensuring strategic alignment and exceptional delivery of publications and medical affairs initiatives.
  • Lead development and execution of end to end scientific publications plans, including manuscript development, abstracts, posters, congress activities, and related deliverables.
  • Guide clients on publication best practices, scientific communication strategy, timelines, and compliance.
  • Partner with scientific and editorial teams to ensure accuracy, quality, and scientific integrity across all deliverables.
  • Drive project oversight, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and client expectations are consistently met.
  • Identify opportunities for organic account growth, expansion of services, and strategic recommendations that add value.
  • Facilitate cross functional collaboration and maintain strong communication across internal teams.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to a positive, inclusive, and learning oriented culture.
  • Stay up to date on therapeutic landscape changes, congress trends, and emerging best practices in publications and medical affairs.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in medical communications, with strong expertise in publications planning and/or medical affairs strategy.
  • Proven ability to lead client relationships, manage complex workflows, and deliver high quality scientific communications.
  • Strong understanding of Good Publication Practice (GPP) principles and scientific communication guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including comfort presenting to clients and cross-functional partners.
  • A collaborative, collegial mindset with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and operate as part of a close knit team.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced scientific degree (MS, PhD, PharmD) a strong plus.
