Manufacturing Technician III (12-Month Contract - Onsite, Santa Clara)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Technician III to support electro-mechanical assembly and system integration of advanced robotic modules in a regulated production environment. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while meeting production and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced electro-mechanical assembly and system-level integration of robotic modules (joints, sensors, control units, cable harnesses) following detailed documentation.
  • Execute functional, electrical, and mechanical testing using calibrated tools and software-based procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues; escalate systemic problems as needed.
  • Interpret manufacturing and engineering instructions (MWI, MPI, TPI) to ensure accurate builds and validation.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 13485, FDA QSR, GMP, GDP, ESD, and clean manufacturing standards.
  • Document production activities, inspections, and test results in MES/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, DHR).
  • Support quality inspections, process improvements, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to resolve issues and support new product introductions.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians.
  • Ensure production readiness, including line clearance, equipment verification, and material accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience required.
  • 4-5 years of experience in medical device or electromechanical manufacturing in a regulated environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with precision tools (torque tools, multimeters, calipers, etc.) and assembly techniques.
  • Knowledge of ESD controls, clean manufacturing, and regulatory standards (ISO 13485, FDA QSR).
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment and meet targets.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as needed.

Preferred

  • Experience with robotics, motion control systems, or surgical device assembly.
  • Exposure to process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and continuous improvement initiatives.

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (onsite)
