Clinical Field Specialist (Surgical Device Proctor)

Remote | High Travel (Up to 75%) | U.S. & International

A client of ours is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Field Specialist to support a pivotal clinical trial for an innovative surgical device. In this role, you'll work directly alongside surgeons and clinical teams-providing hands-on procedural support, training, and expertise to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver intraoperative support and live case proctoring, guiding surgeons and OR staff in real time
  • Train physicians, research coordinators, and clinical teams on protocols, patient selection, and device use
  • Partner with sites to drive patient enrollment and study success
  • Act as the primary field expert for technical and procedural inquiries
  • Observe, document, and report clinical outcomes and procedural insights
  • Provide structured feedback to improve site performance and protocol compliance
  • Support investigator meetings, site start-ups, and ongoing training initiatives

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in:
    • Surgical nursing (OR, ER, or office-based), OR
    • Clinical research / clinical operations with hands-on case support
  • Strong experience working in the operating room environment
  • Proven ability to support live surgical cases and collaborate with physicians
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Clinical trials & GCP (ISO 14155, ICH guidelines)
    • FDA regulations (21 CFR Parts 11, 50, 54, 812)
  • Experience with investigational devices and accountability processes preferred
  • Excellent communication, training, and organizational skills

Preferred Background

  • Experience in colorectal procedures or related specialties
  • Familiarity with Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems
  • Strong understanding of clinical risk and patient safety principles

Work Environment & Travel

  • Remote-based role with ~10% office presence
  • Up to 75% travel across the U.S. (and occasional international travel)
  • Ability to travel on short notice for clinical cases
