Manufacturing Engineer - Equipment Implementation
Fulltime (40 hours) onsite in Groningen

About the role

Within the Manufacturing Engineering - Asset Management department, we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer focused on the implementation of new equipment and technologies. In this role, you will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and act as a subject matter expert in validation.

You will contribute to delivering solutions that meet design requirements, quality standards, and business targets. In addition, you will play a key role in the successful rollout of equipment to the production environment and ensure a smooth handover to other departments.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop validation documentation (e.g., URS, TM, FAT, IQ, OQ, PQ) for machines and equipment, including software components
  • Execute validation activities in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Gather and translate requirements and user specifications
  • Act as an SME in GxP, GMP, and CSV within equipment solutions
  • Lead change control processes (CR, URS, VP through VSR and closure)
  • Design and execute test plans and validation strategies
  • Collaborate with R&D, QA, Operations, and external suppliers
  • Ensure proper documentation and training during equipment handover
  • Implement scalable solutions for global production environments

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing and/or Industrial Engineering
  • Experience in a regulated industry (medtech, pharma, or other cGMP environments)
  • Proven track record as a validation SME
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, GxP, and CSV fundamentals
  • Experience with change control and validation processes
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Proficiency in English (minimum B2 level)

Preferred:

  • Master's degree (MSc or PhD) in a relevant field
  • Experience with metrology systems and vision systems
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and validation
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Knowledge of high-precision machining (turning and milling)
  • Knowledge of high-precision injection molding
