About the Role
A leading global pharmaceutical organization is seeking an Equipment Lifecycle Management (ELM) & Automation Specialist to support its Therapeutics Development & Supply (TDS) Analytical Development organization. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the complete lifecycle of laboratory equipment, from introduction and implementation through maintenance and decommissioning.
You will also support laboratory automation initiatives and critical analytical systems such as Empower, Chromeleon, Unifi, and ICE3. Working within the Lab Operations ELM team, you will contribute to improving data integrity, laboratory system performance, automation capabilities, and operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with GMP and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the complete lifecycle management of laboratory equipment, including implementation, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Provide support for laboratory automation systems and software applications, primarily Empower, as well as Chromeleon, Unifi, and ICE3.
- Support the introduction of new equipment and technologies within analytical laboratories.
- Translate business and user requirements into technical system specifications.
- Ensure laboratory systems adhere to Data Integrity and GMP requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Analytical Development, Quality, IT, and Operations.
- Troubleshoot technical and system-related issues and provide sustainable solutions.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and business-critical projects.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to lab systems, processes, and digitalization.
- Maintain accurate documentation throughout the equipment and system lifecycle.
Who We're Looking For
You are a technically minded laboratory or automation professional with experience in regulated pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences environments. You enjoy bridging the gap between laboratory operations and technology, have a strong understanding of data integrity requirements, and are comfortable working with a diverse range of stakeholders in a dynamic R&D setting.
Must-Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotech, or laboratory environment.
- Affinity with laboratory software, data acquisition, and data processing systems.
- Experience supporting laboratory equipment, systems, or automation platforms.
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred
- Hands-on experience with Waters Empower (strongly preferred).
- Experience with Chromeleon, Unifi, ICE3, or related laboratory informatics platforms.
- Knowledge of Data Integrity principles and computerized system compliance.
- Experience with Equipment Lifecycle Management (ELM).
- Familiarity with databases, digital laboratory solutions, or reporting tools.
- Experience creating or reviewing User Requirement Specifications (URS) and technical documentation.
- Hands-on laboratory experience operating HPLC, CE, cSDS, chromatography, or related analytical equipment.
- Dutch language skills are considered a plus.
