About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Category Procurement Manager Dairy Ingredients to join the Global Procurement team of a leading international food manufacturing organization for a maternity leave replacement assignment.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring business continuity across dairy ingredient sourcing activities, while managing supplier relationships, securing volumes, driving sourcing initiatives, and supporting strategic procurement objectives.

Working within a global Dairy Ingredients Procurement team, you will manage strategic dairy ingredient categories, balancing business requirements with market capabilities to deliver sustainable long-term value. The role requires a hands-on procurement professional who can quickly operate independently in a dynamic international FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute strategic sourcing and tender activities for assigned dairy ingredient categories globally.
• Ensure sourcing plans are developed, implemented, and executed in line with business objectives.
• Maintain continuity of supply by securing volumes, managing supplier contracts, and mitigating supply risks.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers through effective Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Create transparency in cost structures and commodity pricing movements, providing financial and market analysis where required.
• Manage and resolve supply chain and delivery issues in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Support supplier qualification and approval processes for new sourcing opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and international business units.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at tactical and strategic levels, ensuring alignment across functions.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization, sustainability improvements, and long-term value creation.

Who We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Category Manager, Procurement Manager, Strategic Buyer, Commodity Manager, or similar procurement professional.
• Strong procurement background within Food, FMCG, Ingredients, Dairy, or Commodity-driven industries.
• Demonstrated experience managing tenders, supplier negotiations, and contract management activities.
• Solid understanding of supply chain dynamics and procurement best practices.
• Experience with Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)and supplier performance management.
• Strong commercial mindset with a results-oriented approach.
• Ability to operate independently and quickly become effective in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience working in international organizations.
• Comfortable working with global suppliers and international stakeholders, including Asian operating companies.
• Proactive, self-starting professional who takes ownership and drives outcomes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
