Raise awareness with Japan on World Blood Donor Day 2017
Real Tokyo has joined the World Health Organization’s (WHO) observance of World Blood Donor Day 2017 on the 14th June. This day is extremely important especially to the Real team in Japan as an opportunity to raise public awareness on the need for safe blood and blood products.
This encourages voluntary blood donations where everyone is able to do their part to save lives. As an office, we encourage fellow co-workers in doing our part by donating today. And we are extremely proud to have blood donors from the Japan office!
What can you do? Give Blood. Give Now. Give Often.
This is the slogan that World Health Organisation (WHO) has in line with their campaign to raise awareness on the need for safe blood and blood products as well as use this opportunity to thank all blood donors for their continuous support. If you are an able-bodied and healthy person, you should consider donating blood today!
Why do we need to donate blood when there isn’t a disaster?
Blood is an extremely important resource. Be it for treatment or urgent situations like disasters, it is often a key component in relieving a patient from life-threatening conditions. In fact, it is needed to support complex medical and surgical procedures as well. As mentioned by WHO, blood services face the challenge of making sufficient blood available while ensuring its quality and safety in many countries. This is especially true for developing countries that do not have the right facilities and sufficient blood donors.
It is hence important to stress the urgency of donating blood regularly, so that the blood stock is sufficient before an emergency arises. Every single person can play their part in helping others. Real Japan will also like to encourage all of you to strengthen emergency preparedness of health services in your community through the blood donations you can be a part of. This is especially close to our hearts as we are based in a country that is highly susceptible to natural disasters.
Real Japan would like to show our appreciation for your generous donation!
